Pro Reviews: Run to the Hills EP

  • All Music Guide

Originally reissued to commemorate the Maiden's tenth anniversary, this four-track EP combines two singles from their The Number of the Beast album, as well as the fourth installment of "Listen with Nicko," which features commentary from the band's zany drummer. As can be expected, "Run to the Hills" and "Number of the Beast" are identical to the album versions, but the two B-sides, "Total Eclipse" and "Remember Tomorrow," are well worth the price of admission for serious fans. The former is a phenomenal outtake from the Beast sessions, while the latter is a live rendition of an early favorite recorded during a short tour to break in new singer Bruce Dickinson, whose powerful performance gives the song new life.
