Cons: not on DVD!
If the rating system would have allowed me to give six stars, I would bestow it on 'Rowan Atkinson Live'. I bought it on video a few years ago, and from the very start I have regarded it as high art, in much the same way that 'Blackadder' was the finest sitcom ever to have appeared on television.......ever.
The sketches are intelligently written and brilliantly executed. The production doesn't use special effects, therefore Atkinson has to rely purely on his acting ability, which absolutely shines in his Sahara-dry verbal humour and the manic physical comedy.
Imagine my anger, then, when I returned home one day to find my house burgled and my copy of 'Rowan Atkinson Live' gone. (I would like to expand on what I would like to do to the persons who took it, but I guess the subject of dealing with crime is best left for another forum.)
Anyway........I can strongly recommend this video to anyone looking for good, high-brow humour. Believe me, you will enjoy it. My favourite scenes are the one where we are introduced to the Devil (called Toby), and 'Roll-call'.
