| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews Roses in the Sky is a richly textured, thoughtful album by guitarist and pianist Sky. There is a subtle folk and Celtic feel to many of the pieces, especially on "When I Close My Eyes and Dream." Sky also employs bouzouki, synthesizer and drums on many of the pieces. Each cut seems to take a different musical route to reach the same peaceful place in the listener's mind. Of particular interest is "Newland, " with its upbeat drums, and, on the flip side, "Sacred Meeting, " with its soft, almost reluctant notes over the backdrop of waves breaking on the shore. - MusD, All Music Guide |
