Great Flick
Pros: De Niro
Cons: You kiddin', De Niro's starring
This is a great movie. There is a chase scene that is fabulous. I am told that it is used in film classes as the epitome of car chases. This movie is not fancy, but there is plenty of action, and the plot is killer. Classic De Niro. Smooth, cool, and always on top!

This movie was a wonderful surprise. With essentially the same cast absent Tom Cruise, DeNiro is superb, the writing superior and the acting top notch. Excellent action film. I can highly recommend this movie.

Ronin is king in the land of action movies. This is not your typical action film. Ronin has great action, a great plot, and GREAT acting. I am one of many who think that Robert DeNiro should have at least been nominated for the "best actor" oscar for his performance in Ronin.

Ronin truly delivered, combining an intriguing plot and grizzled characters to deliver an edge-of-your-seat pulse-pounding film, chock full of spectacular cinematography and breathtaking action sequences.
I saw the most amazing car chase I have ever witnessed early on in the film... only to have that one topped later on. Instead of a how-can-we-top-the-last-s
tunt mantra (Lethal Weapon, anyone?), the action makes sense and will leave you applauding this fine effort.
Don't hesitate in nabbing this one on DVD. Not only is it an excellent film, but it truly shows the abilities of DVD over VHS.
A must-have for any DVD owner and movie aficionado.

This movie is one of the most amazing movies ever made. The movie has great car chase seens, and has a very good plot. I have watched the movie over and over and I am still catching things I didn't catch the time before. I would highly recomend this movie!!!

The film's premise is the violent recovery of a mysterious suitcase by a mercenary band on behalf of the IRA. Soon this becomes secondary to the plots twists, betrayals and turnarounds.
De Niro provides outstanding character role, but so does Natacha MacElhone as the IRA thugette, desparate and barely able to keep up with the hopelessness of an endless cycle of violence.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoDe Niro is the best
Once again De Niro is outstanding, using his 'Heat' experience to great effect. His performance and the action scenes keep you entertained to the very last second as the film reaches its shattering climax.
Director John Frankenheimer 'French Connection 2' and De Niro 'Casino, just one of his brilliant films' make Ronin a must see movie.

The best thing going for Ronin are it's superb car chases - easily the best since The French Connection, and rivals anything from the likes of James Bond to Lethal Weapon.
The top cast lead by Robert De Niro keep things interesting, while the lush location shooting keeps the visuals sharp. Only problem is that the plot becomes a bit twisted, among other minor flaws.

All the special fx's are real in this movie, thats why the movie seems so real. The way the movie is filmed gives you the idea that you're relly there. A great movie, but what would you expect from an actor as DeNeiro.

This is "THE" movie on covert espoinage and covert ops. Just like "Saving Private Ryan" another Director making another movie in the same genre will undoubtedly be influenced by Ronin. The action is brutal and script mature. This is not a Hollywood movie. If you liked the French "Taxi Driver" and "Doberman" you will savour this akin to fois gras. I await the sequel with great anticipation!!

Some people founds this movie to have boring stretches....please, I did not, help me find them. I found the car chases AMAZING. I liked the plot, and I really liked the cast. The lady was also in the one about the irish attackers (Harison Ford, Brad Pitt) and the french actor is in a lot of French television. I really think he is great. You all know how good DeNiro is, so I dont need to explain his importance. I personally liked this Movie a lot. I could deffinetly watch it again and again without getting bored. There is a lot of action, and I find that those scenes without hard-core action include interesting hidden actions that (if you pick up on them) really hepl make the film more interesting. See it with friends....and they can point out the hidden actions that they see too. This may not be a #1 movie comparted to box-office hits, but I do not understand some of the unfair criticism that has been directed at RONIN. I'd give it a B+ or an A-.

If you want to see a movie with amazing car chases, see Ronin! The movie was a little slow, except for the Audi chase scenes - the main reason for seeing this movie - and that comment comes from a diehard DeNiro fan! Characters, plot was so-so.
