After studying film at Paris' Insitut des Hautes Etudes Cinematographique, Robert Enrico became an editor and assistant director. By the early '50s he was helming shorts for French television; while in the service later in the decade, he directed documentaries and instructional films for the French military. He won international praise for his short film Incident at Owl Creek; combining it with adaptations of two other stories by Ambrose Bierce ("The Mockingbird" and "Chicamauga"), Enrico made his first feature, Au Coeur De La Vie (aka In the...
