Rio Nitrus Easy to use
Pros: Easy to manage downloads, Joystick button great for scanning
Cons: Display is small, hard to read.
I listen to audio books. This unit is great for that. You can easily scan thru chapters, forward and backward. Some chapters are over an hour long. Other MP3's will skip to the next track if you hold the scan button for too long. The Rio does not do that. I go to sleep listen to books and can easly scan back if I doze and miss a portion of the book.

Pros: Small size perfect for those who don't need 20GB
Cons: 2 broke in one year
I couldn't imagine needing 20GB of storage and most of my music was in WMA format so I thought this the right choice. It worked great, the sound was great, excellant software. The battery didn't live up to the hype though. I used it just about everyday.
I loved this product when I first got it. The first one died after two months. The store replaced it for free. The second died within a year without warning. Just wouldn't come on.

Pros: NICE PRICE AND MEMORY
Cons: DOES NOT WORK!
I loved my Rio for the first two months and now I want a divorce! It clicks all the time and some stupid message saying upgrader comes on and shuts it off. I called customer support and upgraded and the problems just got worse and now I can't download alot of songs or even audio books.I was really disappointed in this product and Rio does not honor thier product at all.

Broke down after 3 months... through much talking and pleading with people (located I think in India) representing Rio, they sent me a "remanufactured"
; one. It died after 6 months.

Pros: Good Battery Life, Compact size, lightweight
Cons: Smaller hard drive
I have had Nitrus for about 3 years, and have had few problems. The cable that came with it was broken, but was immediately replaced by customer service. The battery life is about 8-10 hours, despite what they say. For the price, this is a good player to get. Pretty easy navigation. Headphones that come with it need to be replaced as the quality is not great

Pros: Form factor, storage size is a good compromise
Cons: Unit totally failed in less than a year
Bought this unit for my daughter. She loves the form factor, playback quality is good, the UI a bit awkward but servicable. She enjoyed it until a month ago (it was only 10 months old at the time) when it started getting flaky. Kept getting worse until now it will not start at all - won't get past the RIO banner. The 90 day warranty is worthless and I'm not about to spend $$ on repair given the cost of replacement.
