Pros: Durable, long battery life

Cons: can't edit playlists from player

I have had my Rio for 3 years and use it 6-8 hours a day, everyday. Mine has been dropped, gotten wet, basiclly it "has taken a licken .. and keeps on ticken". I have had to replace the expandable memory card once. But other than it's been great. I bragged on it so much my neighbor bought one for herself and she loves it.

I've had my cali for about 3 years now and just love it. To respond to the posts about skipping, it doesn't skip, not possible to skip it reads from a memory card not a disk. If people have mp3 that skip then they were ripped from a cd wrong and are a bad recording. After nearly 3 years of almost daily use monday - friday, I wear it on my arm at work in the construction field very ruff commerical work, the only problem I have is the arm band is stretching out but I have been able to still tighting it up. This player will do anything you want and with a big memory card it will hold over 500 mp3 at 128 bps.

Great Player, Great Price

Cons: Head phones went out after a few months, not much memory

I got this player for christmas last year and i love it. I live on a farm so this has taken an unbelievable amount of abuse. I listen to it while riding on the tractor and all other things. This is a very durable player. The only downsides were the headphones went out after a few months and it doesn't come with much memory but i just bought a gig. memory card so i fixed that problem.

My aunt brought this rio mp3 player from usa a couple of months ago! from that time on, i don't feel sick in metro anymore, great sound quality but shortage of memory are the main characteristics of this item, you can attach it to your arm and go joggin, and have a great time! but when you get home you gotta plug it's usb to your pc and change the songs!

Great MP3 player for the price. I use it to work out with and take it on runs. Its easy to use software and hardware. I would recommend it to friends. In fact I bought one for my wife and she is happy with it. My only (minor) complaint is about the earphones. I ended up buying sony sport earphones that sounded better and better stayed on my ears.

I would like to have seen an internal battery for the Cali, but aside from that its a great little MP3 player.

It's easy to use, pretty sturdy for what it is and looks pretty good too.

I bought my husband his Rio Cali for Christmas last year. Since then I think I have used it more. We both use it to work out with. We are both runners, so it has been abused, but it still keeps going. I find it very easy to download music and I like to change up my music to fit my workouts, so I am always looking for new music to put on it. I have never had a problem with the music skipping. I like the extra features, like the stop watch, I use that quite a bit. This is a good MP3. If you want something to hold a couple hours of music, something small and easy to take with you, this is a good product for the price.

Pros: Very easy to use - low cost - came with arm band for workouts, software easy to use

Cons: only real drawback was getting use to the joystick function - but after a little use got the hang of it and no problem

I think this unit is great - was looking for something that held a couple of hours of music - for workouts and plane trips - this was a great choice - mine works great and was wonderful choice for the money - while you can spend more and get more capacity - this fit my purpose - highly recommend

Right player for the right money

I have never had any problem with my player. My music never skips. I don't use the RIO music download manager though, I use my Real player or Windows Media player for music file transfer. I bought mine a year ago and have stepped on it, dropped it and sweated all over it and it is still going strong. The size is perfect for me. It's big enough to actually hold and see the screen but small enough to fit in my pocket nicely. I love the lock button on it. On my old player the songs would keep switching because the button kept getting hit. The lock button on the Cali has made my activities track skip free. Rio lets you rock for just a few pebbles.

I don't know what the other people were talking about when they had problems downloading their music and it skipping. I did not have any of those problems(I recommend Ares for downloading your music). The only problem I had was that my head phones stop working properly, but the store gladly exchanged them for me. I love the arm strap. I can use it while I walk across campus to each of my classes.

I did my research to find my first MP3 that would meet my requirements and be affordable. I was very excited about choosing the RIO Cali Sport 128mb. The software was easy to use. I loaded my favorite Cds, hopped onto the treadmill and was SO DISAPPOINTED when every song skipped! I tried reloading, brand new cds...still the skipping was there. Support was simplistic and not helpful. Customer services/support will be high on my priority list next time I purchase an MP3. By the way...if this MP3 did not skip I would be raving about it because I love everithing else about it. Even the sound quality is great. To bad it's a lemon:(

Cons: Did not work music skipped

I could not get this player to work. I attempted to install my music on it from my CD collection and I used the software provided to rip tracks. The tracks I recorded did not work they skipped and had many errors. I tried to install my music numerous times and nothing worked. The only music that played well was the stuff that came already installed on the player which was nothing I wanted to listen to. I would not recommend this player. I returned it to the store and will try another brand.
