Synopsis: Rigoletto (1993)
Synopis: RIGOLETTO is a musical family drama that blends THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST into a moving parable of acceptance and personal transformation. To save her family home in the Depression-era hamlet of Castle Gate, teenaged Bonnie Nelson (Ivey Lloyd) goes to work in the mansion of wealthy, mean-spirited, and physically disfigured tycoon Ribaldi (Joseph Paur). When the aspiring singer discovers that her new employer is an accomplished musician, they embark upon a musical partnership that softens Ribaldi's hardened heart and teaches Bonnie a lesson about small-town prejudice.Features: Rigoletto (1993)

Cons: One of the beloved characters dies
The cast is amazing, as well as the characters. The antics of the characters makes it a memorable and welcome video. For each age, there are things that will draw you into it. Very, VERY worthwhile family movie.

Pros: ..................................................................
Cons: ..................................................................
The only contemporary fairytale I consider a true classic, in the sense of Brothers Grimm and H. C. Andersen.
The main character is at times too squeaky clean to be believable, but that is easily forgiven in a convincing environment of divine and terrible themes about self and society. Some elements may be difficult or scary for children under 9. ...
