    Yes, they are primarily a live band. But they could also make some great studio albums as well. They put out Rift, their second studio effort after the mildly successful Picture of Necture in 1993. When I first heard this one, I was like, wow..Shades... of Pink Floyd meets Gabriel era Genesis with a touch of XTC. Great album whether it be a concept or not. The music on this disc is outstanding, also probably their only studio album to capture the live sound that was also in the form a large scale production. Produced by Barry Beckett of Traffic fame, it is well worth the purchase. Recommended to anyone who likes this band obviously, but this album in particular might attract a progressive rock audience as well, a group of people that Phish probably wish they could best avoid.     one of the best phish albums. ive only been listenen to thse guys for 6 months now and i think im becoming obsessed.
