If only for a while....
I could persuade you to make your beautiful music again.. GIRL!!!! WHERE ARE YOU??? All your true fans know you had babies to raise, but we miss you soooooooooo much!!! My husband sang to me on our very first date, February 14, 1995--"Only For a While".. we shared a common bond with that song.. and it brought peace to my heart and whispered to my soul... I was disappointed to read the last sentence of the biography... "disappointing Rhythm of Love." how untrue.. but as stated before... you have to really appreciate your voice, talent, depth to understand the Rhythm of Love... You Belong to Me? Oh.. I couldn't EVEN express the emotions that run through my veins... I hope you decide to record again.. but if not.. We have 2 copies of Rhythm of Love cd, and the rest I have on vinyl.. Miss the melodies... Miss the voice... SoulSistaguhl/Dallas

The fluency, drive, intensity and spine chilling sounds are Anita's musical impact. I have grown to appreciate other Jazz Vocalists like Rachelle Ferrell, check her music out...
She's a 6.5 Octive Songstress Deluxe!!! Very intimate and mind-blowing that leave you stunned in amazement wondering how such sounds come out of that mouth of hers...
Really, She can hold a fluctuating note forever (almost), yet hit a Mariah Scarey high-pitch note effortlessly...
Anita and Rachelle sound a bit similar, but Anita's version of "My Funny Valentine" was highly preferred over Rachelle's version, although she's impressionable... Anita is solid, period! My friend, who introduced me into Rachelle's music complained that "Anita's stuff all sounds the same!" Her voice is consistently solid and rhythmic. Whereas Rachelle's is rather an array of squeeks, deep tones, high pitches, and lots of ornamentation with a flowing super smoothness... alike a "Calgone's Take-me-away" commercial scenario.
Still, with Anita, my soul is moved, period! Rachelle relaxes me and can also convey a feeling of euphoria and an ever floating cloud drift.
I have yet to see Anita in concert. I also will buy her next album, regardless of the reviews. Compositions easily qualifies as the best musical album I've ever heard and most appreciate. Why? Because it has moved me consistently since day one. It gets me all choked up hearing it time and again!
I always wish Anita Baker lots of love, passion, motivation, and satisfaction in her endeavors, personal and professional.
Spread the word, network, recruit, and sample to others. Also, her albums make great gifts for any occasion. Remember that. Show your support and appreciation by putting your money where your reviews are... I've already gifted several of her albums away, and no one has complained. Even if they've never heard her music before, they consitently claim to love it! Then the questions begin.. you know how it goes...

Anita Baker is in exceptional form on this album! From the first note, she pulls you in and has you dreaming of being right there, in the dimly lit, smokey lounge, watching her weave her magic through the room. She has, without a doubt, one of the most expressive voices in R&B today.
