    THIS ALBUM KICKS ASS

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 28, 2006

Pros: The album does not let you down. One great song afte the other.

Cons: Still have that "Rage against the Machine" guitar sound, but, hey, it still rocks!

This is a must have in your CD case! If get sent to war, give me a weapon and this CD. If I have a heart transplant, throw that 4-valved organ in the trash and replace it with this CD! If my wife leaves me, hell I will just listen to this CD!

    Third Time A Charm

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 5, 2006

Pros: There are a few more "Rage-Less" tracks on this album. This may show a little growth as a band.

Cons: Most of the songs are still being driven by the familiar guitar sounds of Rage Against The Machine.

Audioslave breaks some new ground on their third release, although it still sounds rather similar to their past two releases. "Revelations", the title song and album opener, has the typical quiet intro that goes into a loud, thunderous guit...ar driven attack throughout. Not all of the songs on this release are like that. But guitarist Tom Morello dpes pretty much more of the same on the majority of the tracks here. His work actually sounds similar to what he did on Rage's last album and on their covers album, "Renegades". That sound in combination with the rest of the band, though, somehow works to make a sound that simply works. some of the songs are less of the "Rage-esque" sound though, much like on the band's past albums. That sound is carried in songe like, "Until We Fall", "Original Fire", "Shape of Things To Come", and "Nothing Left To Say But Goodbye". While it is a good album, the band hopefully will attempt to grow more towards taht "Rage-LESS" sound on their next release if they make it to album number four. Three albums is a crossroads in the music business. Far too many bands break up after three releases. So time will tell what happens after this album. Read more Less
