Synopsis: Return to Paradise (1998)

Tony is a successful architect, ready to be married. Sherriff is a devil-may-care limo driver. Two years prior, they had been in Malaysia living the high life with a third buddy, Lewis. Lewis stayed on to continue their hedonistic lifestyle. His long-lost buddies don't know, however, that he is in prison, sentenced to die because of them. If a lawyer can persuade Tony...

    Vaughn and Phoenix carry the film

    This film could have easily been dull and irritating, if it weren't for the two, then fairly unknown, brilliant actors. Vince Vaughn and Joaquin Phoenix do an excellent job of playing two friends whose lives are altered dramatically by one party too... many in unfamiliar territory. The cinematography, focusing on dark, cramped, damp spaces, reflects the brutal and soul-searching elements of the film. I highly recommend the film, if only for yet another instance of beautiful performances by these two men. Read more Less

    A soul searching, unpredictable movie!

    Party, Party, Party!! Rum, women, song, and hashish. 3 friends party until one of them gets caught. But the other 2 don't find out until 2 years later when the strict Malasian government decides to execute the imprisoned friend. What would you do? I... don't know what I would do. This movie shows what true friends are made of. Just when you thought you knew how this movie was going to end the plot thickens once again! 5 stars!! I highly recomend this movie!! Read more Less
