Resident Evil Director's Cut [Greatest Hits] PlayStation

For those not familiar with Resident Evil, you play as either Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield. Your objective is to enter the small town of ~Raccoon and locate the members of the ~Bravo division of ~S.T.A.R.S. After researching the mysterious doings of the ~Umbrella corporation, they disappeared while rummaging around a large, abandoned mansion.

Upon entering the mansion, you and your team of companions know something is peculiar. Zombies are roaming the halls, waiting to jump out at you; hellhounds are sniffing about; and deadly flesh-ripping stalkers are ready to take your life. Obviously, this is no ordinary stroll through a mansion – this is survival horror.

Resident Evil Director's Cut offers up some different gameplay elements. There are new and improved camera angles that capture the action differently than before as well as different difficulty levels. The "easy" mode is essentially the ~Japanese version; the "original" is exactly how Resident Evil was released in ~America; and the "arrange" mode is the new, enhanced version that features more enemies, different camera views, and more.

This ~Greatest Hits re-release of Resident Evil Director's Cut is a bit different from the original. It now supports the ~Dual Shock Analog Controller, something many fans were hoping the previous version would have. Because Resident Evil 2 had been released at the time of this ~Greatest Hits package, the demo has been removed and the casing reduced to a single. ~ Shelby Babb, All Game Guide
