Pros: great cinematography..superb cast
Cons: not for the narrow minded.
a touching tragic tale of the dream of an ideal life of four different people...their life begins quiet well then plunges downhill due to drug abuse.. but the most attactive thing about this movie is the movie itself..the direction..screenplay..ex
cellent acting by all lead characters..superb camera work clearly depicts the emotions undergone by the characters during times of happiness and sadness alike..the excellent choice of background music adds great flavor to the entire experience.. clearly the best movie i have ever seen!Was this review helpful? I can't get enough of this film. I enjoyed this tale of drugs, family, friendship, realtionship and how they intertwind. The acting in this film was great. And they cast the right people to play each role. Marlon Wayans was excellent as the herion addicted friend to Leto who also was addicted. And Burstyn's performance was awesome. I loved this film from beginning to end. Although, I would have liked to know if Leto's character opened that store at all:)

One word..amazing. If any of you are wondering who did the music in that movie or for the trailor, it was Clint Mansell teamed up with the Kronos Quartet, the preview song is called 'Lux Aeterna.' You must watch this movie.

This movie was amazing,even more amazing on mushrooms.This movie had my emotions all over the place.The director totally knew what he was doing.I dont think he could have had a better cast. This movie is something I will have my children watch whan there older.Thank you for such a great movie. It's been put on my favorites list along with Fear in Loathing in Las Vegas. Great Great movie. Keep up the good work!!!!!!

Gritty, depressing, realistic viewpoint of drug abuse from the obvious cocaine to subtle diet pills. More familiar perhaps to those who lived through the drug culture of the 80's. Far better than a host of other big budget drug films including: Traffic, Blow, etc.

this movie is not only a wonderful thought provoking piece. But a masterpiece that should be viewed and discussed by everyone. form the moment you meet sara she is your grandma sad and alone and left to her informecials. or when you meet here son harry he is you ands though out the movie you dont get buried in a drama but a life story that is you from moment to moment until thought shattering climax. At no time does this film sugar coat.it is shocking,it is raw,it is pain it is a Requiem to all the dreams that drug destroys.

This is really a horror movie about what drugs can do to people and the lengths they will go to get that next high. Watch the film and you'll know what I mean.

I couldnt believe the movie in itself. It blew my mind because of the harsh reality of what some people will do for drugs. I highly recommend the movie for anyone.

The wife and I rented this movie. She saw it once and couldn't wait to see it again. Then we both watched it. Now all I've thought about is watching it a second time. Great filming, great acting, awesome music! After watching it the first time, it will take a day or two to sink in and digest, then you'll be back for more.
