    Pros: GREAT SONGS!

    Cons: alil too much rock for me

    Pros: The whole movie was great!

    Cons: Nothing at all

    I have for a long time been a big fan of RENT, and when i went and seen the broadway show i fell in love with it. But after watching the movie i dont think i could say that anymore. I loved the movie more then the broadway show. I loved all of the ca...st, Adam Pascal, for example was a great singer and i have only seen him in the school of Rock. This movie has alot of fun songs in it, but it also has alot of drama in it as well. this movie is a must see. I truely didnt think that the movie was going to be better then the broadway show, but like always i was wrong! Read more Less

    We Should Pay Our RENT

    Pros: Amazing production, Broadway cast

    Cons: Could have more features

    "Theres only us, there's only this..." I have seen the musical production twice, including in the late 90's with a lot of the cast in the film. The film is just as powerful and heartbreaking as the stage production. I love how the m...usic director and Chris Columbus changed a lot of the Opera-style parts to dialouge, but kept the words almost the same. The scenes of '80's NYC are realistic from the night views of the twin towers to the ran down subway. The story is comples. Mark, a struggling filmmaker, experiences the lives of his friends and "family"....a best friend musician who is fighting withdraw and pain from his ex who died and left him with AIDS..A professor friend, Collins, who meets a drag queen who both are also inflicted. His ex girlfriend and her lesbian relationship, and MIMI, who falls for Roger, the musician. No other cast could make it so magical...the best addition is Rosario Dawson as Mimi, who dosent have the greatest singing voice but the emotion and beauty to make the character shine....if there is one musicial you see....YOU MUST PAY THE RENT!     Pros: Soundtrack is awesome

    Cons: A kleenex moment for the tender hearted

    The music caught me from jump - with an open mind and heart you immediately realize the value of a minute in life. I enjoyed it completely - though having to keep in mind this was written in the 80's when society was first dealing with the aspec...t of AIDS - it can throw you off if you are of a current generation The character of Angel - keep you eyes open - he is the symbol of unconditinal love and happiness This has a special place in my heart for those in my life that live and have lost the battle with AIDS Read more Less

    New York City, Broadway Style-

    Pros: Roasrio Dawson, Anthony Rapp, and Wilson Haredia; Great Singing, Powerful Plot

    Cons: Not as good as the original; choppy pacing in parts

    I waited a long-ass time to see this...okay, not that long. It only came out at the end of November. It felt like a while. And it was worth it. I loved the music, but had never seen the show, and I'm a fan now. Great perfomances, the singing is a...wesome, and Christopher Columbus, previously known as the guy who directed Harry Potters # 1 and 2, did what Joel Schumacher did with Phantom of the Opera and proved that the unlikeliest directors can do amazing jobs with musicals. Of particular note among the cast are Rosario Dawson as Mimi, one of the two principals who is a newcomer to the material (all the main actors besides Dawson and Traci Thoms originated their roles), Anthony Rapp (who plays filmmaker Mark) and Wilson Jermaine Heredia as the irrepressable Angel Dumott Schunard. Compared to the original material, it is not quite up to standards...but on it's own, it's an enticing musical, powerful and heartfelt. Read more Less

    Pros: I loved the entire movie including all of the special features especially the story about Johnathan Larson [mastermind behind Rent] and his tragic death before Rent hit the stage. A spellbinding awesome Rockumentary for the 90's and even now.

    Cons: Some songs from the Stage musical were not shown but nothing too drastic.

    I loved the whole movie. I watch it daily if not weekly. I've downloaded the lyrics to ensure I won't get it wrong. I love this musical and the message about Love that it tries to enforce....This movie is a must see!
