    First Look

Pros: Obvious - NO GAS or Oil

Cons: Assembly harder than it needs to be

Purchased this mower direct from Remington, no shipping or tax and free extras...about a month ago and have used it 3 times at various grass lengths, no complaints on run time or cut. Cons - the bolt holes to attach the handles need to be drilled ou...t to connect the top handle, the lower bolts are a very close fit. Although most mowers come with fold up handles, doesn't appear anyone ever tested this part. If you don't move the power cord out of the way it will catch between the handle and turn out knob and likely cut into in time. The bolts to the handle knob are too short and have to go to the near fall off point to clear the space needed to fold. A long way from the ease of my 15 yr old mower I replaced this one with on this point. The soft rubber on the handle easily gets damaged at the first brush with a tree or bush. After a few runs in my FL sand yard the selection dial doesn't work as easily as out of the box so no doubt that will be a problem in time, no way to clean it out I can see even with my air hose. All in all is does the job for this small yard, quality isn't something mfgs aspire to these days, just $$$ Read more Less

    Battery Life awful

By Louis  Apr 19, 2009 | 2 out of 2 found this Remington MPS6017A 17" 60V Cordless Push mower review helpful

    Pros: Environmental

Cons: Battery does not hold a charge

I purchased this unit and was initially impressed. I was able to mow my yard and it was quiet and also pollution free. However, within three weeks I had to return the mower as the battery would not hold a charge. The store where I purchased allowed m...e to swap and I continued to be happy as the new mower battery would last approximately an hour (which is how long it takes me to do my yard). Sadly as time went on the battery held a charge for fewer and fewer minutes, until it would not cut for more than 10 minutes without being attached to a cord - which negated the reason I had purchased this model. Contacting the manufacturer is difficult (no mail address, only email). While a 2 year warranty is implied I fear there is none on the battery and the cost of it is over $100. Read more Less

    Pros: sounds good

    Cons: company bankrupt

Call 1-800 626 2237 to hear about bankruptcy. Name sold - no warranty or liability from prior Co (Desatech) accepted.I think my $120 battery expired in the second season - not very green in this respect.I suspect I now have a corded mower - that feat...ure is nice. Mower ok for light duty - sure not a Lawn Boy. Read more Less
