Cons: Quality lacking
I'd owned the treadmill for only about 11 months when it became dangerous and essentially unusable; the problem was slippage of the walking belt at any speed, whether walking or running. When it first occurred, I was jogging on the treadmill at a speed of 6.0 and had been jogging for about 40 minutes. The first-time I experienced the slippage it almost caused me to fall, and was only prevented by my quick reaction to grab the machine's handle. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had not been successful. I've attempted repairs based on information within the owner's manual, but the suggested procedures had absolutely no corrective affect. When I called the company, they suggested tightening the belt on the motor drive, but didn't provide any detail as to how to get to the motor drive, and the owner's manual doesn't provide any details other than an exploded drawing of the assembly. I'm not mechanically-inclined, but have never shied away from attempting repairs if I believe I'm capable. My probing of the machine and review of the manual led me to believe that to accomplish this is beyond what I should be required to do for a machine at this price. And, I believe this is supported by the fact that this procedure isn't covered within the owner's manual. Of course, I should have immediately called the company before the expiration of the warranty, but other pressing matters and a mistaken belief that I had more time on the warranty than the actual, prevented that. My bad!! But, I never would have thought that this treadmill would be of such poor quality to exhibit a problem this early. I'm truly greatly disappointed. I'm now looking at probably a $300-400 repair bill for something that shouldn't have occurred (. I previously owned a treadmill, that I lost in a divorce, that didn't exhibit a problem for the 8 years that I owned it. I guess I was spoiled. ...
