    Winter Finds The Funk!

    By Andre  Mar 20, 2006

Pros: Ferocious Funk Grooves In All The Right Places

    Cons: Too Short!

'Recyled' is where Edgar Winter plus White Trash discover funk. The grooves are big and tight with red hot horns blaring,WILD yowling by Winter on vocals, clavinets and scats and too much rhythm to bare on "Puttin' It Back","...Shake It Off","Stickin It Out" and THE JAM "Competition".I
t's the R&B/funk equivilant of 'They Only Come Out At Night' or the original White Trash album!"Leftover Love" is in my opinion a 70's R&B classic and one of Winter's best ever tunes."Paralell Love" has the same flavor is a highly cosmopoliton mode while "New Wave" recaptures the gospel touches of early White Trash."In And Out Of Love Blues" is kind of blahse' here and nothing on this rare album appears on Edgar Winter's greatest hits packages. But it contains some of his best quality work and is a very consistant album that's NOT to be missed at any cost!

The much-anticipated reunion of Edgar Winter's White Trash brings the powerhouse vocalist Jerry LaCroix back to the forefront, allowing Edgar Winter to put more of his energy into the keyboards, saxophones and percussion. While Recycled is by no means any competition for their 1971 debut album or their subsequent live release, Roadwork, it still houses a few punches that will catch you with your guard down if you aren't careful. Extreme musicianship dominates, but a few classic covers might have helped endear this release to its listeners. After all, that was the key to the original success.
