RBD's Rebelde could prove palatable to some, however, it will not likely do so to those who consider themselves music lovers. They have several strikes against them in the first place, beginning of course with their very genesis of the group. The three young men and three young women who make up the ill fated band were originally the six protagonists on the popular 2004 telenovela, "Rebelde." RBD has successfully obliterated the line between their theatrical and musical careers. The ultimate consequence is that Rebelde is a piece of telenovela merchandising, not an album. With vocal performances that are, without exception, of such a poor quality that they barely deserve discussion and thoroughly uninteresting production to match, commenting on the artistic merits of the project would be barking up the wrong tree. However, having charted as Billboard's number one Latin Pop album in both '05 and '06 is certainly noteworthy. With wildly successful sales and radio play, it's possible that...
