The Rise of Goth Rock

Pros: Very Good all around. Ville Valo has amazing lyrics that fir well with the music.

Cons: The album starts out hard with Sonngs like "Your Sweet 666" (U.S. version) and "I Love You" (U.K. version) But slowly fades out and loses its energy. There is also a lack of variety. Every song is very similar. Its a good thing every one is great.

Razorblade Romance is a blisteringly melodic complilation all 14 incerdible songs. Songs like "I Love You" and "Poison Girl" start off with a hard intro, tone it down with palm-muted verses in true H.I.M. style, then end with a su...rprisingly impactful ending. The only problem is that every song follows this same pattern. There is not a great variety in the arangments. Also, the lyrics don't vary too much. They are all about loving someone and wantign to show that person just how much they do love them. "I Love You" is a bit different. Its about a man who loves a girl who doesnt love him. The more this girl turns him away, the more he wants her. Not a bad idea. Overall its an excellent album I highly recommend it. Read more Less

HIM couldn't get any better than they already are! They're one of the best bands on earth, and one of my personal favorites! And of course Ville Valo is gorgeous....I mean c'mon who doesn't love 'em? His lyrics are so meaningful, ...and his voice is deep and soothing. Razorblade Romance is definantly my favorite album by HIM. Read more Less
