Pros: surprisingly good compared to other animated films
Cons: not any that I can think of except now I want to try ratatouille
When I first got the movie after my 8 year-old brother forced me to do so I assumed it was going to be another one of those animated films that had no appeal to anyone over the age of 13. I was definitely surpised. It seemed like an adult film (not in a mature way) but with teh story centered around a mouse, giving it a good kid appeal. I found my whole family enjoying it include me. Definitely worth seeing a few times.
Pros: funniest and cutiest movie ever
Cons: nothing
I rented it for my garandson and my grandson loving it he watched it three times in a row and watch it twice a day since the first day we rented it. I will be buying it unless someone gets it for him before i do.
Pros: great story, great concept, great movie!!
Cons: none except you'll want to diine on pasta afterward.
This is one of Disney's finest. The charactures are full of life and passion. You'll forget you're watching a mouse cook fine french cuisine. Don't hesitate to spend the dough!!
Pros: its funny, sad, and it givesyoua history of france and its famous meal "ratatouille"
Cons: I liked every bit ofthe movie.
This is a fun and great movies for the whole family.
Pros: Excellent storyline, engaging, wholesome
Cons: Sound/dialogue could be a bit low at times
This is one of the best animated films I have seen in a long time. I always screen movies I show to my children (ages 1-6) and this one passed the test with flying colors. It was so cute and happy. No veiled sexual connotations that I picked up on and no profanity. These are huge selling points for me because you cannot assume that because a movie is animated, it is suitable for children. You can watch this movie with the whole family and everyone will love it, even teens.
Pros: Just a good time/nice message
Cons: none
I was worried that this was going to be another sorta-ok Disney picture, but it is excellent. Right up there with some other classics life Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Very watchable... not one of those flics that you put on once and don't watch for another 6 months...
Pros: Great story, great storytelling, incredible animation
Cons: It's about rats
"Ratatouille" is easily the best movie Disney has come up with since "Finding Nemo". Pixar, as usual, takes the animation a step further with amazing attention to detail. (The scene where Rémy gazes over Paris is one of the most visually stunning moments in the movie.) The story is deeper than what we've come to expect from Disney, though it manages to remain kid- and family-friendly, always funny and easy to follow. When our rat friend, Rémy (Patton Oswalt), along with his family and entire rat colony, are driven out of their homes by an elderly shotgun-wielding French cottage dweller (one of the most hilarious characters yet), they end up in Paris, home of the famous, fine French cuisine. Rémy's acute senses of smell and taste lead him to become an excellent cook, and the story follows his adventures as he teams up with pseudo-chef Linguini (Lou Romano) to try and prove himself to the world of Parisian cuisine and especially the fearsome critic Anton Ego (Peter O'Toole). Along the way, the story holds wonderful tales and life lessons for every artist out there, from the starting amateur to the high professional. True genius.
Pros: Well done
Cons: Not too engaging for kids
Enjoyed the movie as an adult, but my 7 year old son was bored through most of it.
Pros: Great film
Cons: None
Just a great film, period. Best of the year so far.
Pros: relatively short
Cons: boring and slow
compared to past features like Cars or Finding Nemo this movie is horrible. The story line is slow to develop and leaves you begging for an ending

Don't waste your money its not even entertaining for the kids.

Cons: cant think of any

the cast the story, everything...
Pros: Very realistic
Cons: Wasn't long enough
Any movie that can have my six year old Goddaughter gasp at the opening scene of Paris at night and ask to go there is okay in my book. Very entertaining.
Pros: This movie is yet another original work from the Disney Pixar partnership. It presents some good messages, including the overall message that no matter who you are, you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.
Cons: There are a couple imitatble things that shouldn't have been in a "G"-rated movie.
Disney/Pixar has cooked up yet another great movie in Ratatouille. It is proof that the two companies need each other, and that Hollywood needs both companies. Whether it is the message sent through the movie or the fact that it is a standout buddy comedy, Ratatouille is a film that every family will enjoy. And while it is a great movie, there are a couple parts in the movie that some parents might find objectionable for a movie that received a "G" rating
But let us first look at the movie's title. The title has nothing to do with the fact that the main character of the movie is a rat, despite the fact the title has "rat" in it. The title actually is linked to a scene near the end of the movie, which won't be given away here. The creative team behind the movie did, however, intend to imply that it had a lot to do with Remy (the rat).
What makes this movie so enjoyable overall, other than the fact the the story is original, is that it is a wonderful buddy comedy, along with a fun family film. The interaction between Linguini and Remy makes for plenty of laughs throughout. Audiences can't help but laugh watching Remy pulling Linguini's hair to help him cook. The two look like a puppet and puppeteer working together. Even in the more moving scenes, audiences can still feel the connection between Remy and Linguini.
Another positive of Ratatouille comes in the form of the mandatory, ever-present, underlying romance subpot. Yes there is romance. After all it's Paris, the city of lights and love. What would one expect? But thankfully, the team behind the movie made sure to not let the romance overtake the main story. It is there, but it takes a backseat to the story of Remy and Linguini's "partnership."
The bonus features do little to add to or detract from the enjoyment factor of the movie. However, in defense of Disney/Pixar, the explanations of why certain scenes were deleted from the movie makes the deleted scenes interesting, at least. And if audiences have time to try and find them, there are a couple fun little hidden "easter eggs" in the main menu itself. They are short, but still enjoyable. One of the "eggs" explains how the team came to decide on the name Ratatouille for the movie's title.
It is also interesting to watch the main bous feature, "Fine Food and Film." It shows just how precise the creative forces wanted to be in recreating the atmosphere of a top notch restaurant. It shows they wanted to be as realistic as possible.
The only real downsides come in a couple of scenes that, while short don't belong in a G-rated movie. The first of the two scenes comes on Linguini's first day. The head chef tells him something that many parents might find offensive. The other scene, in question, comes when the female chef (who later becomes Linguini's love interest), uses a trio of knives to hold Linguini's arm down on a table in the kitchen, while chewing him out. She does not stab him, but young audiences might try to do what she did, and end up stabbing someone in the process. Both of these scenes are something that any child may be influenced to imitate, and in turn, really don't belong in a G-rated movie.
Despite those two scenes, and the lack of major bonus features, Ratatouille is stll a great, original family film that parents and kids alike will enjoy again and again.
