    Flat Recording

    By David  Jun 2, 2001

Rather than lifting the audio recordings from the HBO series where these rants debuted, Miller instead reads them in silence. What's missing is the live audience reaction to the punchlines, which is where this CD loses something in translation. No ...audience to play off of makes Miller & his rants a lot less playful and slightly awkward at times. The book is a better bet, and if you can't read, the TV show airs nightly on HBO Comedy. Pro Reviews: Rants

  • All Music Guide

Comedian Dennis Miller's scathing, acute and hilarious "rants" are the consistent highlight of his live HBO program; this set collects 15 of the series' best, on topics as far-ranging as singles bars, ecology, civility, emotional baggage and America's cultural standing.
