The Raging Teens banged out their eponymous debut over the course of a couple of days in a converted barn in Maine. Using tube microphones and other vintage gear, the album was recorded live and most of the songs were nailed in one take. This gives the record an authentic period sound, while at the same time catching the energy of the band's material.
The primary songwriter is singer Kevin Patey, who wrote or co-wrote seven of the album's 11 cuts. Indie songstress Mary Lou Lord co-wrote "Ain't Worth the Time" and contributed the party-down tune "Move, Move, Move."
