Featuring former members of '60s psychedelic band John's Children -- vocalist Andy Ellison -- and quirky, humorous new wave pop/rockers Sparks -- bassist/songwriter Martin Gordon -- the Radio Stars often came off as a cross between the two bands. Also including guitarist Ian McLeod (along with Ellison and Gordon, a former member of Jet) and drummer Steve Parry, the Radio Stars recorded two albums, 1977's Songs for Swinging Lovers and 1978's Holiday Album for Chiswick.
