I bought this TV at Circuit City over 4 years ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. It has been a great TV and the picture quality is awesome still. Obviously, it isn't as good as new TVs that are coming out these days but for what I gave for it and how long I have had it, it has been a great investment.

WE got this about a year ago and only after a few months it started making this high pitch noise that i can not seem to get rid of! We cant afford a new TV cause we spent so much on this one!!!

I bought the tv about 2 years ago for 1500 from Circuit City. It had a good price and had the best picture for the rear projections they had. I should have done some research first!
Its barely two years old and im having a major problem with the picture going out and flashing black to horizontal snow. There is no information about the problem and after reading reviews im afraid to even try calling service. It appears everyone with this tv who has tried to get it repaired has had no luck or spent more money than a new tv. I just can't believe im having picture issues after only 2 years. This is the biggest POS put out by RCA aka THOMSON.
The authorized service center in my town wont even take this in.
RCA will not co-operate and their cust. service sucks.

Cons: HDTV Picture quality is not comparable to flat screen
I am two days into the RCA 52 inch purchased from Circuit City. HDTV is not very impressive at all. I had to flip back and forth from regular TV just to notice a difference.
I then started a little online investigation and found out this T.V. is going to last me about 2 years at the most and servicing the unit is just going to send me to anger management.
I am going to give it another week and probably return and shell out an additional 500 or 600 for something with the better than real life vision picture and some reliability.
I have a 32 inch no name T.V. whoe picture quality is better. RCA needs to get it together.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoIssues

3 months after purchase, made annoyning high-pitched whining noise. Got louder and worse. Three seperate service calls to fix. Bought because of the great price. Typical RCA crap quality (I should have known, I work for Comcast). Definately got what I paid for. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!

my husband i purchased ours about acouple months ago and we never have had any problems it has great sound and color has many different features i would not go with anything smaller after having this it was differently funny watching TV at first its amazing!

got this set a year and a half ago. after 3 months the menu screen stopped working! the tech said its a circuit board problem his 6th one in the last few months.make a very long story short they couldn't get a new board so they were gonna replace the tv. except they (thomson) no such thing as rca anymore) didnt have any left. they offered to buy it back, great except after picking up the tv it took 6months to get my check !!! and that was after a lawsuit letter had to be sent by certified mail. i 'm telling you people do not buy this set and don't buy rca- thomson brand . they just moved over seas.

Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: One high def input, and no coax/ tuner.
This TV is about as budget as you can find. You can find it at Best Buy for under $1000. Be warned this TV only has one high definition component video input, so if you want HD cable, X-Box, or DVD hooked up at the same time you are out of luck.
The speakers are on par with other sets in this range, but why would you use tv speakers with a big screen tv? The set is also not a true RCA, the name was purchased by TTE.
Save your money, you can get a 42" DLP for $600 more. Or if size is critical, check for the 51" toshiba. You can often find them for under $1000.Was this review helpful? Yes - Nomy rca tv

I have had my rca for just over 2 years now and can't keep the service people from coming to my house. It stays broke down more than it plays. Very disappointed with the product. RCA use to be a good company but I guess not anymore. :-(

my husband and i got on line looking for a bigger tv found this one at wlmart for $988.and it had a great picture and sound our daughter said we got to get this so we did a we enjoy it the kids get a kick playing there games on it i love it for the better picture the size dont miss anything when i comes to watching a wide screen movie to plain

In July 2005 I purchased an "open box" RCA D52W20 for ~$900 that was on sale at Circuit City. I was waiting to buy a non-rear-projection wide-screen HDTV for less than $1000. But when I saw the quality of the picture I decided to purchase this R-P HDTV. As of 12/2005 I have been very happy with it. My CATV provider has a lot of HDTV programming that has allowed me to really enjoy this TV. It has both PIP and split screen. But be aware that split-screen will not work with DVI or component sources. This is not a problem for me because my CATV STB also has composite outputs that will allow me to use the split-screen when I want to. I use the DVI input for the DVI output of my DVD player. I use component for my CATV signal. The HDTV tuner will tune CATV up to channel 99.

My husband and I just bought our RCA at Circuit City. We cannot say enough. The sound, picture, looks and the price is unbeatable. We have been searching for a nice television that was nice-looking, great features and afforable and this television is it. I highly recommend it.

I just received delivery on my new Rca television and im thrilled with it .The quality of picture and sound is incredible.The features that this T.V. offers are widespread and im sure i wont use them all but its nice to have them available.This T.V. is a winner.I had a problem understanding the menu and some features and the support people that I called were wonderful in helping me.
