R. Dean Taylor

R. Dean Taylor
A songwriter for Motown in the late '60s, R. Dean Taylor became the first White act to record a number one single for the label when his "Indiana Wants Me" appeared in 1970. After moving to the Motown subsidiary Rare Earth, "Gotta See Jane" was released a year later; several hits followed but he never duplicated his earlier success.
