    I am French,I' m jewish,I'm married,I've read the Marquis de Sade,and I'm a "normal" person! He was not just a sexual person,he wrote also books without sexuality,he was a beautiful writer besides sex...And I have just LOVED this movie,Geoffrey Ru...sh was marvelous (he deserved to have an Oscar,I was very dissapointed that he didn't...) This is ONE OF THE BEST MOVIE I've seen these past 10 years...All the actors did a wonderful performance.I saw it 4 times. BRAVO et MERCI !!! Read more Less

    pictures...Story of the Marquis de Sade (Geoffrey Rush)at his stay in a Mental Hospital where his writings were published with the help of a mental ward aid. His writing were the Hustler of that time where the King did not tolerate such langage of se...x and sends a doctor to silence him. Unbeknowing the doctor uses it for his wealth and advantage.     I rented this movie last night and I have to say it was one of the best films of the year (2000 of course) I think Kate Winslet should have been nomintated for the Oscars. I highly recommend it, it was one of Kate Winslet's best films.
