    Quest for Fire is a film that will not only alter one's perception of modern human behavior but also show the dawn of what we call human civilization. This movie portrays man distilled to his original raw instincts, many of which in today's ultra mod...ern society would be denounced as barbaric and foreign. It is hard to fathom that 8,000 years ago our predecessors had pretty much the same cognitive ability as modern humans do. It is simply the continual growth of technology and civilization that separates us from the characters in Quest for Fire. After knowing this morsel of knowledge, it was apparent that this movie not only defines life in the ancient world but also paints vividly shocking portrait of who we really are. Simply put, watching this film is quite humbling. The film climaxes when the main character discovers that man can create fire. This moment is quite inspirational and thought provoking simply because it is more important than man discovering the atom or the structure of DNA. That is, man is now capable of changing his environment instead of being controlled by it. In essence, the progress of humanity is a long and detailed history. In order to understand who we really are we must learn from where we came. Quest for Fire delivers a wonderful image of where we once were and who we are now. Read more Less

    This movie had a definate impact on me as a 22 year old . Now in my forties I can say it was one of the funniest and imaginative sci-fi I have watched to date. Its good to see someone with an original and wild story line make it to print. Definatel...y not for the religous fundamentalist.... Read more Less

    If you're a Discovery Channel type fan this is THE movie. For sheer boldness alone I love it. With so many movies made as demagraphic targetting, market research products, its refreshing to watch some flat out imagination. Probably not for every...one but who cares. Read more Less

    It saddens me that there are no reviews on this AMAZINGLY funny movie. I was forced to watch this film several years ago in a highschool World History class. The premise is this: It's way old ancient times and fire was a big deal. When it showed ...up after an occasional bolt of lightning struck the earth, the locals went nuts! They were too stupid to make it themselves, so if you had fire, you were a big shot, but also a big threat. Other tribes try to steal the fire and the crazy antics begin. I particularly recommend this film for crazy "blue girl" who just can't stop laughing. This film is just one laugh after the next. Get a group of friends together, get some popcorn, and get ready for the ride of your life! Read more Less
