Quentin Mosimann was the winner of the seventh edition of French American Idollike TV show Star Academy. There he performed with elaborate showmanship and developed his blend of jazz and electronica , performing Taxi Girl's hit "Cherchez le Garçon" in two separate versions, a jazzy one and an electronic one, on his first EP outing in early summer of 2008. He went on with that twosided singer concept on his first LP, Duel, released in August 2008 by cutting the records in two distinct halves. Duel was rewarded by a gold record by the end that same year.
