Pros: Cheap price, nice looks
Cons: No memory for radio stations, tuning is difficult, poor sound quality
This radio looks really nice. It also has a really low price. I thought I should give it a try and install it myself. After going thru all the trouble of installing it (just 6 hours of work), I was finally able to listen to the radio. As soon as I heard the sound come out of the speakers, I could tell this radio was a mistake. It just didn't sound very good.
I tried tuning the radio and was very disappointed with the interface. It uses the same tuning mechanism that a analog tuner uses. Since there are no search ability, I had to keep rotating the nob until I finally found my station. The radio was a pain to use.
The cassette player works. I like the ability to be able to switch sides without having to rotate the cassette. One problem that really annoyed me was the fact I had to eject the cassette just to listen to the radio. There should be a button that allows the user to select the audio source instead.
Overall this is a very poor choice in radios to have in your car. I suggest spending the extra money and buying a decent radio with memory presets and a button that allows the user to select the audio source. Installing a car radio yourself can bring you pride, but I suggest just having a professional do it. Who wants the trouble. ...
