I think that shooter Jennings will be a big star. I think his Dad is looking down from heaven smiling with pride. I feel his music is true to life. It's a little country and a little rock and roll all mix up in one. I love waylons musics and my husband is one of Waylons biggest fans. I was very surprized at how very much I liked shooters music. I just love every song on this CD. I just cant get enough of it I play it all the time. My 14 year old son loves it to. I'm going to have to buy two more copy's of this CD because we all want to take it with us every were we go. I cant hardly wait for the next CD to come out. Keep up the good work on your music shooter. You should be very proud of yourself as I'm sure your family is. Good luck and keep safe, and my God watch over you.

Pro Reviews: Put the "O" Back in Country
| EXPERT RATING: From AMG Reviews Shooter Jennings is the son of the late Waylon. This is both a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that because of his pedigree people will take the opportunity to check him out. The curse is that the comparison factor is inevitable and unfair. And since birthright is unavoidable here, we'll get this out of the way straight up: this is modern day outlaw country music. This is rockin' country music. The title track goes a little far in terms of stressing its point including getting George Jones to slur his way through some introductory words. The very next cut, "4th of July" contains the same kind of pumpedup guitarslinging grittiness glory that the original outlaws did. It's loud, has a killer hook and nearchanted refrain. "Lonesome Blues," is pure Texas country; drawling, slow, full of pain and pathos. And so it goes. Jennings can write songs. The best of them, like the aforementioned "4th of July" is a quintessential Southern rocker; the acoustic "Sweet Savannah," and electric "The Letter," are fine busted love ballads that tell fullon stories, dig deep into country archetypes and have fine choruses and hooks that are timeless. "Southern Comfort," sounds like a dead cross between Lynyrd Skynyrd's more laidback moments and an outtake from Chris Whitley's Living With the Law, and features a backing chorus of Mom Jessi Colter, Faith Evans and Cece White In Jennings' singing voice there is the trace of his father's grain, but in his music he is unruly and fiercely independent; that's a compliment more than a comparison. This is a fine debut album. It has a miss here and there, but it's got soul, grit and displays its creator's wealth of talent. Recommended. - Thom Jurek, All Music Guide |

Pros: The energy, and authenticy is amazing!!
Cons: It would not hurt to have left some language out...
The debut of the son of Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter to the country music world! Overall this is truly a great album. It is a masterpiece indeed. Unmistakeably the heir to Waylon's legacy! His first single "Fourth of July" is nothing short of great. There are also plenty of traditional sounding country tunes. George Jones makes a guest appearance. How much more hardcore country can you get?! There are a couple of surprises on here, that being one of them. You'll have to listen to find the other. There are also several uptempo songs that have a "punk rock edge." It is a very interesting combo."Busted In Baylor County" is the best example of that. Southern rock roots are visible in, "Steady at the Wheel." It is no surprise that Ole Shooter, as I'm sure he will come to be known, has made what will be one of the best albums of the year. This is the most interesting, fresh sound I have heard in years. Who knows, this could bring country out of the slump that it has been sinking into for sometime. The title track, "Put the O Back in Country" says referring to that, "You know it aint country music you been listenin' to." It borrows the chorus of Waylon's "Are You Ready For the Country" for emphasis. The 'O' truly does need to be put back into a lot of "country" today. I'm sorry but two goof balls with a rapping cowboy and boy bands that sound like they constantly suffer cold and flu symptoms are not anywhere close to country. Shooter sets em' straight on this record. Waylon would have been so proud! ...
