Pros: Still looking in new directions for sounds and textures.
Cons: As is often the case, I needed to "get used" to the modified style.
This is a very late album review.. It's '06 now, instead of '04 when the album released. The general feel of "statik" as I call it, is alot like Candyass and Vapor transmission crossed and mixed. To complicate matters all the more, Jay Gordan actually "screams" on this album every now and again. I also noticed that the extremes between a mellow sound and an aggressive sound are punctuated more than on the first two releases. I was expecting Vapor Transmission "2", so I was pretty shocked. But I soon noticed that the sound was at least as complex and unique as before. I started to like this album as much as "Vapor" and a bit more than "Candyass". As far as lyrics go... I pick up less of the "pissed off teenager factor" this time around. (Which really grew on me.) Many of the songs are danceable and actually very groove oriented. Strictly on the instrumental side. It sounds more as though it's all about the music. Less about a huge number of different synth tones. My biggest hope is that Orgy keeps releasing albums. I love all three and want more.
Pros: A lot of time and work went into this album
Cons: Sound is too ordinary
I have been a fan of Orgy since about 1998, I got turned on to them from their hard sound and great fashion sence. The thing that this album is lacking is that hard sound. The techniques used for making the different sound on the album is honorable, but the lack of hard hitting guitar rifts and a much needed drum solo are still absent.Yes, I own the other two albums but that sould not be the reason you buy this album it should be for for a better reason then that, what that reason is you deside.I did not find this album that great but I know the guys can do better if they don't listen to the corp. america.
Pros: All songs are great
Cons: Only nine tracks
I bought this CD because I am a ORGY fan. I listen to it thinking this is going to suck... But after I heard it for awhile it really kicked ass. I think it is ORGY with a punch in the face, because you get ORGY sound, plus more. I really like this CD I recommend buying it if you own any ORGY CD. I really enjoy this CD and I am happy that I added it to my collection. Great job ORGY with PUNK STATIK PARANOIA. While I am talking about ORGY I got into them because of the song that features Jonathan H. Davis(of KORN) "revival" off of the first ORGY CD "CANDYASS". Ever since I like a little taste of ORGY.
Pros: Orgy With A Extra Kick!
Cons: Not Exactly The Same As Before
At first you hear it, and think, I am so dissapointed. Here a few times you start to catch the new sounds, and hey, this album is actually really good. It still has the Orgy sound to it, with a kick to it. sounds great. a album worth buying if your an Orgy fan or carry their last two albums.
