A Swedish pop-punk band widely revered in their homeland as godfathers of the late-'90s explosion of Swedish guitar pop bands, Psychotic Youth was formed in the late '80s by singer/guitarist/songwriter Jorgen Westman. Primarily a power pop band most influenced by late-'70s bands like the Shoes and the Plimsouls, Psychotic Youth also assimilated influences from new wave to Stooges-derived garage punk to Beach Boys-ish surf music.
