Synopsis: Prison Song (2001)

The American dream is at odds with the American justice system in this story of the deterioration of the soul of one inner-city African-American male. Raised primarily in group homes, Elijah (Q-Tip) lifts himself up through art and education. When a full college scholarship is revoked, frustration and anger takes over. Fighting with another youth in the group home, he accidentally kills the other boy. Sentenced as an adult, the stoic Elijah now attempts to free his broken spirit through art once again as he serves his 15-year-to-life sentence.

Rapper Q-Tip conceived and stars in this critique on the prison system and the idea of American justice. Characters allow the audience into their thoughts by breaking into song with solemnity in a manner that could introduce a younger, more jaded audience to the musical format. Darnell Martin (I LIKE IT LIKE THAT) offers compassionate direction and supporting work is provided by Mary J. Blige, Elvis Costello, and Danny Hoch.

    Pros: Prison Song was a good musical!

    Cons: I dont like the swearing and the guard's being bullies!

    The Prison Song movie was about how inmates escape maxium high security prison in New York,City. Snow pick's on Q-Tip in the movie.Snow's real name is Darrin O'Brien.Snow and the other guard was mean to Q-Tip's friend.In the end of th...e movie.Snow drives home with his wife in their car like nothing ever happened.Snow was a star in the end.Like he deserved it!     Pros: I own the DVD. The movie was a musical

    Cons: The Prison Song was a tragedy of love.

    Snow was a prison guard and A good bus driver.Snow carried a rifle around.Snow picked up Q-Tips art work.Q-Tip drew Snow's face on one of his artwork.Q-Tip was a good artist. Snow has a scar on his neck.Q-Tip pushed Fat Joe on the subway track.Ma...ry J.Blige ended up in the psychiatric ward.Mary was paralyzed in a wheel chair with an intravenous in her hand.Snow should get his wife to act with him in more movies.Its a thriller.It's an action movie.The police were rude to the Uncle in the movie.The police pushed down his photoframes.The police and the prison guard's influenced people's behaviour's in the movie.It was only acting.Trick photography and stunt's.It's fake and phony.I did not take the movie personal or seriously.
