Pros: The Predator is back and just as good as ever

Cons: The Predator is the only thing good about it...

In the first movie, the Predator comes to the jungle to hunt the best trophies available... the skulls (still attached) of an American SpecForces team. He's bad. Really bad. And so is his prey. You almost don't know who to root for in the end.... It's like a really good Superbowl game... no matter who loses... the fans are the only real winners. But in the second movie... it's no contest. The Predator is the "good guy". You'll root for him almost completely to the end. And he's not hunting elite, highly trained, excellent soldiers. He's hunting an overweight LAPD cop and a stupid NSA/CIA? agent and his poorly trained team of sycophants that are trying (badly) to catch the Predator. And he's doing it in downtown LA. What I liked about the first movie was that I could believe that an alien could manage to land undetected in the jungles of Central American and hunt humans. Sort of believable. But for an alien craft to land in a sewer in downtown LA and NO ONE NOTICES? Come on... Especially in LA, where everyone seems to have a camcorder pointed as an LAPD officer these days. But, it is a decent movie with some good action scenes. The cussing is over the top and detracts from story. Plus, unlike the first movie, the character (is there more than one in the sequel?) is not very developed. But, the final fight scene does make up for the lack of character development and lack of a decent story. And, it does flesh out the nature of real stars of both movies... the Predator. Read more Less
