Predator.
One that preys, victimizes, plunders, or destroys.
A stalker. A killer. A slayer. A hunter.
Arnie, Arnie, Arnie. But, sorry. He's not the star. He's just the prey. One of many. Granted, he manages to survive in the end... making him the winner. But, he's more lucky than skilled.
What makes this such a believable Alien Sci-Fi certainly isn't the special effects. The graphics look to have been done on Win98 with Photoshop. What makes it believable is the premise of the movie...
ID4: Aliens that can travel half way across the galaxy can be defeated by a virus written on an Apple laptop and a single well placed missle shot (or airplane collision). Yeah, right.
Alien: We can traverse great distances in outer space and can find alien worlds... and creatures... but we're still building Hummer ripoffs and slag throwers not much more advanced than today's Uzi? Come on.
Star Trek: We can use teleporters and can engage Warp drive and have cool phazers... but auto destruct is still one of the most popular last ditch weapons a ship can deploy?
Star Wars: The Jedi can float objects with a thought and can sense things happening halfway across the galaxy, but the bad guy in the chair in front of them is as transparent as the dialog?
But an alien coming to Earth... Not to conquer. Not to feed. Not to rule. Just to hunt humans like we'd hunt a deer. Now that I can see. Except that, well, humans aren't exactly the sportiest, smartest, fastest, or strongest things on the planet. But, we do have neatly shaped skulls.
Anyways, Predator, if you like Sci-Fi, is a must have movie. If you don't, it depends. You probably aren't going to be thrilled, but it is a decent movie to watch. The dialog isn't going to blow you away, but there are a few decent one-liners... and the characters are decently developed... for a "waste 'em all" Sci-Fi or Horror movie.Was this review helpful? John Mcterian literally samked this, in other words this is amazing. really good special effects for an 80's movie, but the extras need more commnetary and there are no trailers in the exrtas, but it comes with a demo of Alien Vs Preadtor 2 for the PC. the game is good like the movie

Just say it with me folks: WEA-PONS!! Electronic Biomechanical Camoflauge, Tri-Beam Infrared Laser Sight, Mounted Shoulder Canon, Heat Vision/Oxygen Equipped Mask...and OHHH That Lovely Mini Gun!!! This is an all-timer actionpacked movie. No matter how many times and when you watch it, it still feels like state of art action.
Special effects are very well done generaly (except hud view of Predator) and sound music is also spot on..

This is the movie that really cemented Arnold's place in action movies, like Terminator did to introduce the Austrian actor to the public at large. This movie is made much better than his previous film, Commando. The plot is great & the actors turn in fine perfomances all-arround. It's one of my personal favorites. "Stick Around" and watch this one!
