String band fiddler Posey Rorer was born on September 22, 1891, in Franklin County, Virginia. The brother in law of banjo player Charlie Poole, Rorer was a key part of Poole's North Country Ramblers until 1928, when a disagreement with Poole led to Lonnie William Austin taking over the fiddle spot in the band.
