Synopsis: Pork Chop Hill (1959)
Synopis: Based on S.L.A. Marsall's account of his Korean War experience, the film stars Gregory Peck as Lt. Joe Clemons, the officer charged with taking the strategically meaningless Pork Chop Hill from the Chinese, while diplomats dither about the terms of peace in Panmunjon. Some of the men under his command, which include Fedderson (George Peppard), Marshall (Martin Landau), Forstman (Harry Guardino) and Velie (Robert Blake), are doubtful about the wisdom of this order, creating a tense atmosphere.Features: Pork Chop Hill (1959)

A True Story & Important History Lesson.
, December 29, 2001Reviewer: thenaz_64 - See all thenaz_64's reviewsGregory Peck did a great performance with acting & co-producing this film. I'm proud to have this as part of my DVD collection. This movie showed how Politics played a major roll in this last battle of this Korean War. It didn't leave out the mistakes/errors made on behalf of the Americans. Watching this film 42yrs after it's premier, explains why we now place air superiority as a priority in current & future wars. What I found to be an amazing fact was that we were fighting the Chinese in this last battle instead of North Koreans. Other points of interest I found were the "Intelligence" blunders that occured. Although I was born after this war in 1964, the U.S. still has it's "Intelligence" blounders today. Fortunately, we have learned not to repeat many of our mistakes of the past. I recommend this "Pork Chip Hill" movie to everyone. In addition, I hope you take time to watch "Hamburger Hill" to learn about Vietnam. Thank You! ...
