I've used the pair of Polk Audio Monitor 70 speakers for eight months now.These are very efficient.They can be driven with a modest 20 watt receiver(don't expect audiophile performance with such little power,though)and will also accept up to ...275 watts per channel.The highs are crisp,clear and accurate.The midrange is just remarkably beautiful and the bass is surprisingly good:tight and controlled without being boomy.There is PLENTY of bass.When I listen to CD's I've heard many times before I hear details in the music I never realized was there.Male and female voices sound natural with great presence.Imaging and depth of soundstge are VERY good.Natural,uncolored sound is what you'll get from these speakers.A cymbal sounds like a cymbal.A trombone sounds like a trombone.I auditioned many speakers before I decided to purchase the Polks.Some of the speakers I listened to cost over twice as much as these Polks,but didn't sound as good!Very musical speakers and can pack a real punch at higher volume levels.Simply put,these speakers sound beautiful and are a sonic revelation.I know of no other speaker in it's price range that can deliver this kind of performance.5 stars ALL THE WAY!
