Synopsis: Planet of the Apes TV Series (1974)

Synopis: March 21, 3085. Two astronauts land on a strange planet run by apes with human characteristics, including the very savagery that brought the decline of the human race. The astronauts arrived here by traveling through a time warp and after a short stay they realize they are actually stranded on their own planet, Earth, several years in the future. Roddy McDowall returns from the successful films as the star of this television series which had a very short life of 14 episodes. All are included in this collection of the underrated science fiction program.

So much less complicated than so many of the overblown productions of today that it makes for fun and relaxing viewing. Extremely interesting to watch 30 years after first seeing the series air on network television, as an adult you have a totally different perspective of each episodes message. I still think the makeup and costumes are more interesting from the 60's and 70's than today. ...

this collection is a must for many apes fans,It has great stories plenty of action!Fun to watch.The series did beter in syndication then its friday night time slot when it first aired,the sci fi channel has shown the series in the early nineties and had good ratings.Ron Harper and James Naughten are very likeable astronaughts!Wish they had more episodes.This forgoten treasure was made possible on dvd when many fans wrote to FOX and called including myself.Its rarely on tv at all.Pick this up you,will be glad you did ...
