    The Best Thanksgiving Movie Ever

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 17, 2006

    Pros: Comedic talents unsurpassed

    Cons: NONE!!!!

I tried to do this for my first review and couldn't find it at the time, to be able to review. Today, as Thanksgiving approaches, I see it here! What a blast to find it!!

This movie has the best comedic team I have ever seen, John Candy and Steve Martin together. It is a terrible shame that John Candy isn't around, to further share that magic that he so well displayed with Steve Martin. However, he left us with a treasure in this movie!

The story revolves around getting home for Thanksgiving and the two unlikely traveling mates that use Planes, Trains, & Automobiles to make it there. It is so hilarious, I never get tired of laughing about it. The bathroom scene, the bed scene, and the driving scene are my favorites, but the movie is packed full of so many moments, it's hard to choose. And the ending, so bittersweet! If you haven't watched it, buy or rent a copy today!!!

    Pros: Great tag team comedy

    Cons: No sequel

I thought this movie was one of the funniest of the 80's. The combination of Candy & Martin had me rolling on the floor with laughter. This movie me a big fan of the late John Candy & a lifetime fan of Steve martin. I give this movie the highest rating.

    Steve Martin is God!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 4, 2000

Without a doubt, the most funniest film ever!! an excellent performance from Steve Martin and John Candy, a great comedy duo! one part which to this day makes me cry laughing, is when Steve Martin abusively complains to the woman at the airport about his rent car which was supposed to be there, but wasn't! f*** this and F*** that! also when he has to share a double bed with John Candy!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jun 17, 2000

Ever laugh so hard you feel you'll burst? I watch this movie and every time during the burning car scene and just before when they're going the wrong way on the highway--I have myself in tears.....
John Candy was a great comic.... there's no movie of his where I don't laugh myself into fits.... this movie, though, definitely tops the charts.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is a classic comedy. Every time I watch it my sides split with laughter. It's just one of those movies that you can recite, but it never gets old! I recommend it to everyone looking for a good laugh, or just an amusing movie!

This movie continues to be a holiday tradition in my household. Never before has a director captured the true nightmare of business travel with a comedy of errors. Hysterical and inspiring - that's John Hughes!

A very funny and heartwarming movie

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 9, 1999

    Pros: funny

    Cons: funny

Plains, Trains, and Automobiles is a movie about a typical guy (Steve Martin) trying to make his way home to Chicago from New York to be with his family for Thanksgiving. He meets a very odd but friendly man (John Candy) along the way who ends up traveling with him. During the trip anything and everything that can happen to them does, to make a very an extraordinary and hilarious film. I highly recommend that you see it if you have not. It will be one you'll want to see more than once.
