    Ahh! what a classic killer animal movie.
    Surprisingly thrilling for a low budget horror
    movie. With scenes of extreme gory'nes, should
    win any low budget horror fan over. The sequal
    isnt bad either.

    ..for the pond! No wonder why they seem to smile everytime I feed them. Piranha have a feast when accidentally released from a pond to a river. Jaws was still better.

    If you like Jaws than Piranha will eat you up. Billrant story line , cool visual effects and best of all the piranha look real.

    <EOM>Piranha, a very well-made low budget horror/suspense flick not only succeeds in delivering the expected gory violence but also succeeds in deliver-ing a sharp sense of humor. In this JAWS ripoff a military operation is drained into a loca...l river the race is on to stop a deadly hybrid of pirahna from reaching the usual river swimmers as well as the ocean which would lead to a catastrophe. Written by now well-known John Sayles(who also wrote the equally successful ALLIGATOR) and directed by Steven Spielberg favorite Joe Dante( The Howling, Gremlins,Matineeand many more classic sci-fi/horror films), Piranha delivers. Only drawback to those of you moviegoers who have not seen it is that it is unavailable to the public for sale and is a very hard title to find in rental stores but it is shown quite frquently on TBS SUPERSTATION and is available on DVD. Highly recommended chiller, a soon to be classic!!!!!!! Read more Less
