From AMG Reviews

Guitarist/vocalist Marc Teamaker's Ping is a melancholy rush of Rundgren-esque power pop that settles into your soul with a bittersweet burn like a shot of Jägermeister on frigid upstate NY evening at your favorite local pub. More singer/songwriter than Matthew Sweet, but no less Big Star fascinated, Teamaker deserves to stand atop the heap of melodic popsters. Ping finds this largely unknown talent at the height of his abilities addressing the onset of middle-age with a resigned sweetness that could cause James Taylor to drunkenly bawl that it's all been downhill since Sweet Baby James. Teamaker's voice falls somewhere between Sweet's reticent nasal touch and Taylor's velvet tenor and rubs perfectly against the acoustic guitars, bell-tone pianos, and fuzzy electric-guitar accents he surrounds himself with. However, it's the Brooklyn native's first-rate songwriting that really grabs your ears. Teamaker excels at sincere, concrete expression, whether he is addressing the vague unhappiness of getting older on "Can't Say Why," or the acceptance that life might be getting better, as on "One That's On the Way," where he sings, "Love my wife and I love my dog/And the one that's on the way/Walk around in the London Fog/And I have to say/That I'm happy."
