Pros: beautiful picture
Cons: won't last but 1 1/2 to 2 years
This is a common problem that Phillips TVs have. Around 2 years they die. If you do not have an extended warranty to are up a creek. Buy at your own risk, but you can bet that I will never own another one.
Pros: Couldnt tell you, didnt work a high enough % of the time i had it
Cons: Piece o shhhhhh
This television is junk. Don't buy anything from Philips. Control board went out after owning it for 3 months, service was very screwed up, took about 6 weeks to get my tv fixed. then what do you know, same thing happens again except this time tv is out of warranty and Philips couldnt give 2 you know whats. Save yourself a headache and don't buy anything from Philips as they are a bunch of junk dealers. hell my dvd player/recorder only lasted 2 months. way to run a business into the ground fellas
Pros: Tricks you into believing its a great Tv
Cons: Dies after warranty expires
Call me crazy, but when I spend 1500 on a TV, I expect it to last more than 18 months. Don't buy this model!!
Pros: GOOD PICTURE
Cons: FAILED AND SLOW REPAIR.
I bought this specific TV. I have two Philips TV's, a 42 inch LCD and a 50 inch plasma, and both of them failed in less than a year. It took about 6 weeks to get my plasma repaired, then less than 2 weeks later my LCD failed. The LCD was picked up by the repair shop on October 16th, 2008 and is still in the repair shop today (December 4th). This is ridiculous. I talked to Philips and the only thing that they told me is that they are fulfilling their obligation to repair the TVs. Two failures at less than a year old, with both being over 6 weeks to repair! This second repair is approaching 2 months! I think there is something going on with Philips TVs and they aren't telling consumers. I will never buy another Philips product. I have at least 3 other rooms that I am planning to put large screen TVs and you can be sure that they won't be Philips brand. Just a black picture with no sound and no menu. The screen is dead and the sound is dead. The blue LED is still lit to show that it has power. No parts are available so the repairs take forever. My last CRT TV lasted about 20 years! I understand infant failure rates, but this is 2 TVs, both Philips, that have failed, with very little support from Philips. Are the repair parts going to fail also within a year so that I am stuck paying for the next repair?
My advice is to stay away from Philips. They had multiple failures with capacitors in other models, and it seems they are no getting any better.
Pros: Great Tv
Cons: none
I have owned many big screen tv's.This one is the BEST so far,HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Great Tv !
Pros: Good picture, good price
Cons: Better quality control?
Bought the TV end of last year - easy to set up and good picture quality, good sound and easy to set up.
However, used TV without problems for 5 weeks, then switched it off one night and no picture the next day. Power light came on but no picture or sound. Tried unplugging and waited few minutes - still no picture after plugging it back in. Called Philips - support was ok - suggested what I had already done and then said I would have to get TV checked out by Philips repair tech. Also had a problem with USB port - manual showed it on 'side panel' but on my unit 'side panel' was at the lower left corner at the back - no problem unless you wall mount and can't get your USB key in to upgrade the TV firmware. Well, TV died before I could upgrade firmware. Now waiting for retailer to get new stock. Have not decided if to get another one in place or to go with different manufacturer.
Pros: great price
Cons: keeps turning off/bad color
whereto start. my cable finally was connected so i bought my self a present the tv. it turned off by it self twice. also, the color went from pink to lack of blue in the tube. i called sams they told me i could only exchange the tv even though it only a week old. not very happy.
Pros: Excellent color and looks great
Cons: No computer input
I have been looking at several plasma TV's for he last few months and saw this TV at my local Sam's Club.
For less than $1500 the price was just perfect.
Set up was easy. I'm using HDMI connections for my DVD player, Directv and Apple TV and have my audio receiver do all the audio and video switching.
Out of the box the set was bright really bright. Contrast was set at 100%. After calibrating the set using AVIA's calibration disc, the final settings I got was 60 for contrast, 50 for brightness and 50 for color and sharpness level was turned down to 1.
I turned off all the processing features of the set except for Pixel Plus.
The audio quality of the Tv is good considering most TV sets come with poor internal speakers.
The only drawback of the TV is the lack of computer inputs. Otherwise it is a very excellent TV for the price.
Feed it 720p or 1080i signals and you will have a great TV experience.
