Best tv for using as a computer monitor ever!

By Troy  May 20, 2009 | 2 out of 2 found this Philips 42PFL5603D/27 review helpful

Pros: ease of use, great picture, and compatability

    Cons: i found none

I love it, I have had 2 lcd tvs this one and a sharp aquos. They say that the auos has the "best picture for a lcd" i don't agree, i like my phillips better. and as for ease of use, my phillips was plug and play my aquos had to have spe...cial software to be able to use it for a computer monitor. load of crap took me 3 days to get the aquos to work (as a computer monitor) my phillips was simple just hook up and use. my phillips supports many different resolutions for my computer, but the aquos only supports one. i noticed some others complaining about their tv getting warm and something about noise, all i can say to that is that mine has no noise, and all lcd tvs get pretty warm... come to think of it all tvs do crt, lcd even projection tvs do... but plasmas don't seem to get as hot... however they suk, i wouldn't own one. plasma tvs don't seem to have the quality picture an lcd does, and they have burn in issues. Gets the job done for the price

Pros: Great picture, easy to use. HD looks amazing.

Cons: Constant background noise from electronics... very annoying. No Picture in Picture which pisses me off like a mad man. Sound is hard to get just right. Voices are either too quiet or obnoxiously loud.

I like it, other than the damn picture in picture thing and the buzzing noise that is about as annoying as a fork on a chalk board.
