If you loved the stage version, the movie version will blow you way. The movie is so much more lush, and sexy. The 100 piece orchestra brings an already magnificent score to its ultimate peak. The sets and costuming are beyond description. What really stands out in all of this, as opposed to the stage is how you become one on one with the characters. Patrick Wilson is a wonderfully dashing Raoul. Emy Rossum is a sweetly innocent Christine. And Gerard Butler's Phantom is absolutley & magnificently heartwrenching. He delves into the Phantoms pain. I dare you not to cry with him when the Phantom is watching Christine and Raoul on the rooftop of the Garnier!

This sound track is awesome and I think everyone should listen to it. The movie was incredible. I find it amazing that people don't like it. The music in this opera was very moving, it takes you in to the caracter. You almost feel bad for the phantom. I just love it.

Pros: Christine's voice and Phantom's emotions
Cons: Phantom's voice
Emmy Rossum, the actress who played Christine and was trained to be an opera singer ever since she was a kid, had an amazing voice. Can you believe she's only 18? Gerard Butler put a lot of emotions into his character, but his voice was not powerful enough to be the phantom. I would recommend people to buy it!

The lady singing Christine has a great voice, but the Phantom and Raul are quite weak. I can't help but yearn for the great Michael Crawford when I hear this version. He always will be THE PHANTOM.
