The team of singer Nancy Marano and electric accordionist Eddie Monteiro is a perfect match. Monteiro's electric keyboard sounds quite self-sufficient, and Marano's voice is very flexible and appealing. Baritonist Gerry Mulligan, pianist Roger Kellaway and flugelhornist Claudio Roditi make guest appearances on one song apiece during this CD, but otherwise, this is a rather impressive duet date. Highlights include "This Happy Madness" (one of three Jobim songs on the date), "Autumn Nocturne," "Skylark," and "A Sleepin' Bee." A rather intriguing group that is well worth discovering.
