GREAT for the Money!

Pros: Easy to use, right out of the box

Cons: Not packed with features, but thats OK too

I purchased the K100d Super as my first dSLR, and my 9th Pentax since my first MV 28 years ago. I got the camera on a Thursday, started taking shots of my son's highschool cross country team on that Saturday, and had 68 pictures published on their website on that next Monday. Extremely easy to use, lightweight, and the 18-55mm standard lens is variable enough to be creative.
If you are ready to graduate beyond your little point-and-shoot, I would highly recommend this camera, especially since it is $$hundreds less than some of the more well-known names. I have been a diehard Pentaxian for almost 3 decades, and this one delivered too!
PS. By the end of the CC season, I actually had one of my pictures show up in the Atlanta Constitution newspaper! Yes, this is a real camera, folks!

Pros: price, in-body image stabilization, solid construction, image quality, lens availability

Cons: slow burst, minimum megapixels

I have had this camera for about 1 year and I really like it. I find the image quality (sharpness, color, etc) to be better than many cameras costing much more and having better features, including those cameras with double the megapixels. I love that it is compatible with older and readily available K-mount Pentax lenses, and has image stabilization built into the body. I also like that it takes AA batteries - get some good rechargeables and you will still be ok even if you can't find an outlet; you can always find disposables.

The menu is sometimes unneccessarily tricky to navigate, the auto-focus can be slow and wander, and has difficulty in the dark. The viewfinder could be brighter (as with most DSLRs).

I wish it had HDMI out, more megapixels, faster burst rate - especially when shooting RAW, and a RAW+JPEG setting. But for the price, this is a great camera.

A Good Starter Camera

Cons: Dry Cell Batteries, 6.1 Megapixels

If you are looking for an affordable DSLR camera at a reasonable price then the Pentax K100D Super is the camera for you. It is versatile, and easy for starters to figure out the only drawback I have come across is that it uses Dry Cell AA batteries and unless you buy good solid rechargeables it'll eat through them like candy. Overall, it is easy to handle and takes good quality pictures for a 6.1 Megapixel. I am a nature photographer, so the camera is sturdy enough for me to take anywhere and everywhere I go and it has already had it's trails of being a hardy camera.

Pros: cheap, use of old lenses

Cons: no original battery grip, not a lot of stuff for it

The pentax K100d super is an amazingly good camera, it is easy use and even in the AUTO-use it takes great pictures!
One of the big advantages is that you can use your old pentax lensen on it, almost as easily as AF lenses, the camera can measure the shutterspeed and it gives a red light when it is sharp, so it almost like you are using an AF lens :)
The kitlens is grom great quality and you can take amazing pictures with it.
There is also an onboard shake reduction so you don't need to buy special lenses for that.
Als the old lenses you can use, you can buy cheap on for example ebay!
The bad thing is that pentax didn't make an original grip for the camera, but now there are a lot of grips made by other companies.
The overall of the camera is just great for it's price!
