Pros: The "voice" of KISS
Cons: Some of these should have been KISS songs
The Starchild, the "frontman" of KISS sets himself to full shine on this album.
Half rockers, half ballads.
Paul's ego gets in the way on a few of these; but KISS fans are used to that.
Although Ace's solo effort will always be my favorite, Paul shows that his songwriting abilities are the heart and soul of KISS. From the opening guitar work of "Tonight You Belong To Me" to the more mellow "Ain't Quite Right" to the epic closer "Goodbye", there are few bad notes on this recording. This is not just highly recommended for KISS fans, but for rock fans seeking something to help scratch their rock itch.
Almost as solid as Frehley's solo album. I'd love to hear Paul rock out on his own after the Farewell Tour finaly ends!
I remember this one. I agree with crazycrazy, this is definitely the best of the solos and I would put this in the top 5 of all KISS albums. "Tonight You Belong to Me", "Take Me Away", and "Love in Chains" are vintage Paul Stanley. This is what KISS is all about! Unfortunately, in the 70s I was one of those idiots that bought this on eight track (and Dynasty as well), which we all know went the way of the dinosaurs.
Paul Stanley's solo album is so far ahead of the other 3 it's a joke to even compare them. This album just plain rocks from start to finish! It's funny, even songs that don't stand out on this record would stand out on just about any other. It starts off with the awesome Tonight Yoy Belong To Me, & just keeps rockin' from there. Move On, while not 1 of my favorites on this album, is still a very good song. Ain't Quite Right is 1 of only 2 songs on this album that doesn't quite hold up, but it's far from bad. Wouldn't You Like To Know Me is my favorite, this 1 just kicks rear! Take Me Away (Together As One) is a nice power ballad that has grown on me a lot. It's Alright is the other song on the album that didn't hold up IMO, but it also is far from bad. I really like the true ballad, Hold Me, Touch Me. It really shows us that Paul can handle slower songs as expertly as he does the rockers, in fact,he even plays the guitar solo on this 1, a real treat! Love In Chains is yet another great rocker, as is Goodbye. All in all, an outstanding effort that shows that while Gene may be the most recognizable face in KISS, Paul is defintely the best musician, as well as 1 of rock's best singers of all time! Highly recommended, when you get this 1, I just wanna warn you now, when you get this album, you might never take it out of your music player, be it CD, cassette, etc.
I really love this album! It's the only KISS solo album that sounds like KISS!I think it's probably better than some of the regular KISS albums! But I just have to say even if don't like KISS but like rock'n'roll you will never take this one out of your cd player!Buy this album today!
