Patrick Lawrence Moten was a behindthescenes giant whose credits read like a who's who. The producer, arranger, keyboardist, and songwriter was born in Los Angeles, CA, and showed an early affinity with music, studying classical with Lucille B. Hughly and Professor William Wilkins, but switched to rock after witnessing Billy Preston light up a local club.
